2008-2009 School Year
This will be Courtney's last year in Elementary School. 6th grade is in the Middle School in McKinney. I can't believe that I have a 5th grader. It seems like yesterday that we dropped her off for kindergarten (cliche, I know).
It is funny how different boys and girls are. Connor who is in 3rd didn't want us to walk him into school but Courtney did. She loves spending every last minute with daddy!
Below are some pictures of the first day. I even snapped a picture of them in their classrooms which happen to be across the hall from each other.

Justin & Jacqulin's Wedding
This weekend we attended Keith's nephew Justin's wedding. It was in Chickasha, Oklahoma. It was a really beautiful wedding, unfortunately my camera did not capture the sharpest pictures. Jacqulin's dress was gorgeous.
Wedding Party
Mother of the Groom - Susan
Courtney and Connor took a lot of pictures with my camera. It is funny to see Courtney's view of Keith at the rehearsal/wedding.
The funny thing is he only had one drink each day but that is what she saw.

It is hard to believe that it has been 8 years since my mom's passing. I remember it like it was yesterday. I still miss her and think of her everyday. She would love to see all her new grandkids and how big mine have gotten. In her memory, Kim and I went to see a movie and had some popcorn. Mom loved movie theatre popcorn and Tom Cruise movies. No Tom Cruise movie but we did have the popcorn.
I miss and love you, Mom!

Galveston trip continued
After breakfast we headed down to the ocean. We enjoying frolicking in the water, trying to catch a wave on the wake boards and sitting and enjoying the ocean. We were out for about three hours and someone forgot to put on more sunscreen. Poor Toni was our little lobster. You can see how much pain she is in by this picture of her blowing out the candles on her cake.
As you can see from the picture Toni was burned and said it felt like her shoulders were on fire that is why she has cold, wet paper towels on her shoulders.
Kim, Cathy and Toni enjoyed freshly caught shrimp for dinner while Michaela and I tried to enjoy our oven broiled steaks, yuck! They need to be cooked on the grill.
The highlight of the evening was around 11:00 p.m. when the birthday girl wanted to go skinny dipping. What a crazy, fun night!
Sunday:
We slept late, ate breakfast, swang on the swing up on the deck looking out onto the beautiful ocean. We left around two and sat in traffic getting off the island for over an hour and a half. That's ok since we had some great conversation.
This is just a brief recap of the weekend. So much more craziness happened and silly stories were shared. It was a great trip. Enjoy the remainder of the pics.

Galveston Trip
Friday:
Well, I just returned home from a very fun weekend. My dear friend Toni turned 40 on Saturday and we went to Galveston for a fun girls weekend birthday party. We left at 2:00 a.m. on Friday morning by kidnapping Toni from her home. She thought we were leaving at 8:00 a.m. and going to David's lakehouse. Hee hee!
We arrived at our beach front cabin at 9:00 a.m. Friday morning.
After unloading the minivan we headed to the beach
After enjoying the beach we went in to town to get some groceries and had lunch then proceeded to all take a 3 hour nap. After the much needed nap we cooked up some fajitas for dinner and took a nice stroll on the beach. During the walk we saw a girl get thrown out of the back of a pick up truck that was driving down the beach to fast and going in and out of the water. The guy and girl in the bed of the truck were tossed out and we ran over to see if we could help only to be shoed away but noticed the girl was banged up pretty good, very scarry! We came back in and played a short lived game of trivial pursuit then boxers and briefs.
Saturday:
We woke up to the smell of cake baking in the oven. Cathy got up early and started the birthday cake. This was Toni's actual birthday. We had breakfast burritos and mimosa's for breakfast then sent Toni on a game of "Hot and Cold" to find her gift. She eventually found it downstairs in the outdoor shower hanging on a hook. Nothing like a huge elmo bag to hide her new Coach purse that she seemed to enjoy. See for yourself.
More to come soon.......Check back!

Ups and Downs Update
Happy to report that the home CLOSED! We passed the inspection by the engineer. This was one of the most difficult transactions I've had but I'm happy to say it closed and it did so before I went out of town.
